Dr. Ghazi Zaatari is a Tenured Professor and Chair of the Department of Pathology & Laboratory Medicine at the Faculty of Medicine at the American University of Beirut (AUB). Dr. Zaatari holds his MD degree from AUB (1976) and had residency training in Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at the Johns Hopkins Hospital (1976-1980) and Fellowship in Surgical Pathology at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Centre (1980-1981). He joined AUB in 1995 and, since 1996, has been Professor and Chair of the Department of Pathology & Laboratory Medicine.
Dr. Zaatari is a member of several local, regional and international pathology societies; he is the Secretary of the International Academy of Pathology, Vice-President of the Arab Board of Pathology and Member of the High Council of the Arab Board of Health Specialisations. Dr. Zaatari is the Chair of WHO’s Study Group on Tobacco Product Regulation (TobReg), Member of the Executive Committee of the Tobacco Laboratory Network (TobLabNet), and Director of the WHO FCTC Knowledge Hub on Waterpipe Tobacco Smoking. He is the author of 150 publications, several book chapters and a pathology textbook and the recipient of several awards and international recognitions.

Dr Arfahiza Selimin is an Anatomic Pathologist with an Area of Interest in Gynaecological Pathology at the Department of Pathology, Hospital Tengku Ampuan Afzan, Kuantan, Pahang.
She is a medical graduate of Universiti Sains Malaysia in 2003 and completed her Master of Pathology from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia in 2012.
She completed her Gynaecological Pathology Attachment at Hospital Kuala Lumpur, followed by a Trophoblastic Disease Attachment at Hospital Canselor Tuanku Muhriz, UKM, and a Clinical Gynaeoncology attachment at HTAA. Following that, she pursued her Gynaecological Pathology training in the United Kingdom at the Birmingham Women’s and Children’s NHS Foundation Trust and Belfast Health and Social Care Trust, under the tutelage of Dr Raji Ganesan and Professor W. Glenn McCluggage.
At present, she is a member of The British Association of Gynaecological Pathologists, International Society of Gynaecological Pathologists, International Gynaecologic Cancer Society and International Academy of Cytology. She is also a member of the College of Pathologists, the Academy of Medicine Malaysia and the International Academy of Pathology, Malaysian Division.

Research focus
My research focus on genetic profiling and molecular signaling of gynaecological diseases, aiming at investigating diagnostic and prognostic markers as well as molecular targets for better therapy of patients with gynecological cancers, including cancers of ovary, endometrium, and cervix as well as gestational trophoblastic disease.

Dr Tan Puay Hoon is a pathologist with Luma Medical Centre Singapore. She has active interests in breast, and urologic pathology, and was a Volume Editor of the 2012 (4th series) WHO Classification of Tumours of the Breast, and a Standing Editorial Board Member for the 5th series of the WHO Classification of Tumours, IARC, Lyon, also serving as an expert member for the Breast volume in the 5th series published in 2019. She is currently in the Expert Editorial Board for the upcoming 6th edition of the WHO Breast Tumour Classification. She is on the expert panels of the WHO-IARC-IAC Cytology series for breast and urologic cytology, and is part of the IARC-WHO Evidence Gap Map Project for the WHO Classification of Breast Tumours.
Dr Tan was the Series Champion of the International Collaboration on Cancer Reporting (ICCR)'s dedicated structured datasets for the breast suite. She sits on several Editorial Boards of international journals including Modern Pathology, Histopathology and Pathology. Apart from a busy service largely focused on subspecialty surgical signouts, she and her collaborators have been recipients of research grants related to translational studies of breast and prostate cancer. She is author of over 600 publications and participates regularly in regional and international meetings.
Dr Tan’s research interests in breast pathology centre around the classification of breast fibroepithelial lesions and their molecular pathogenesis, triple negative breast cancers, and ductal carcinoma in situ. In urologic pathology, she is engaged in prostate and renal cancer studies and was a contributor to the 2016 (4th edition) and expert editor for the 2022 (5th edition) WHO Classification of Tumours of the Urinary System and Male Genital Organs.
She is a Past-President of the International Society of Breast Pathology (2013-2015) and was Councillor for Asia of the International Society of Urological Pathology (2009 – 2015). She is the immediate Past President of the Asian Breast Diseases Association and the immediate Past Convenor of the Assembly of Asia-Pacific International Academies of Pathology.

Prof. Tse is the Chairman and Professor in the Department of Anatomical and Cellular Pathology. He is also the Honorary Chief of Service of the Departments of Pathology of Alice Ho Miu Ling Nethersole Hospital and North District Hospital. A pathologist by training, he has active interests in breast histologic, cytologic and molecular pathology. His research focuses on the evaluation of prognostic factors in breast cancers, molecular classification of breast disease, understanding the molecular basis of morphological features and their application for clinical decision-making in routine management. For the classification of breast diseases, he is particularly interested in the diagnosis of fibroepithelial lesions and papillary lesions in the breast. Prof Tse is widely engaged in local and overseas professional bodies, including the ICCR dataset in breast pathology, the TCGA breast group external pathology committee, and the WHO breast tumour classification. He is active in organising educational activities and is the current president of the International Academy of Pathology, Hong Kong division; Vice President for Asia for the International Academy of Pathology; and on the Board of Directors of the International Academy of Cytology. He also serves as editor and editorial board member of various journals, including Histopathology, EBioMedicine, Modern Pathology, Cancer Cytopathology and advisor for multiple funding agencies and NGOs.
Dr. Lee Bang Rom

Dr. Lee Bang Rom graduated with Honours in Medicine from the University of Malaya (UM) in 1999. As part of his postgraduate training, Dr. Lee completed the Master's in Pathology (Anatomy Pathology) training in 2007. Dr Lee is subspecialised in dermatopathology and soft tissue pathology. He obtained the Diploma in Dermatology (NUS 2012), Diploma in Dermatopathology (Japan 2012) and the International Board Certification in Dermatopathology from the European Union of Medical Specialists in 2013.
Upon joining private practice in 2017, Dr Lee consults lung pathology as well as various cancer cases from multiple private hospitals. Lung, breast, and GI pathology are his primary practice at the moment.
He completed a Postgraduate Diploma in Molecular and Diagnostic Pathology (PDipMDPath HKU) in 2020. He successfully qualified himself in various PD-L1 train-the-trainer programmes. Currently, he has conducted numerous courses of local PD-L1 training classes.

Dr. Ivan Shew Yee Siang is a Consultant Clinical Oncologist at Sunway Medical Centre. He specialises in Medical & Radiation Oncology.
Dr. Shew obtained his MBBS from the University of Malaya in 2003. He received his Fellowship of the Royal College of Radiology (Clinical Oncology), United Kingdom, in May 2013. He also holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman (UTAR) with a focus on Information Technology for Corporations, Health Quality Improvement, and Health Economics.
Dr. Shew completed Clinical Fellowships in Medical Oncology and Radiation Oncology at the National Cancer Centre, Singapore. He has a keen interest in cancer palliative care, breast cancer, lung cancer, colon cancer, gynaecological cancer, and Head & Neck cancer management. He is a Life Member of the Malaysia Oncology Society (MOS), a member of the European Society for Medical Oncology (ESMO) and the European Society for Radiotherapy and Oncology (ESTRO).
